Deadlines approaching for health coverage information reporting

Monday, December 21, 2015   (0 Comments)

Don’t forget about the upcoming deadlines in 2016. The IRS sent out a reminder for large applicable employers (ALE) about reporting health coverage on the new Form 1095-C. The Internal Revenue Service has provided instructions for the new return. The IRS is estimating it will take companies an average of 12 minutes to complete each return. It's important to note that a Form 1095-C should be filled out for each employee to indicate whether health insurance coverage was offered on a month-by-month basis.

The employee must receive the 1095-C form by February 1, 2016Form 1095-C and 1094-4 must be returned to the IRS by February 29, 2016, if filing on paper, or March 31, 2016, if filing electronically.
