Vaping Restrictions in Spokane County Start July 1, 2016

Monday, May 2, 2016   (0 Comments)

Spokane County becomes the sixth county in the state to pass regulations restricting vaping in public places. Following a unanimous vote, Spokane Regional Health District’s (SRHD) Board of Health (BOH) new regulations will take effect countywide on July 1. Similar to the state’s no smoking in public laws passed in 2005, individuals in Spokane County will be prohibited from vaping in public places and places of employment.

Employers are encouraged to review their Employee Handbooks and Company Manuals to ensure that 'Smoke-free Workplace' policies include language or reference vaping and vaporizers in the workplace. Under the new regulations, employers are required to update their existing signage to include language that prohibits vaping.
