Jim is a Washington native, he graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in pre-law and English. He also earned a Master’s degree in a MBA-Administration from the University of Washington.

Before leading the Associated Industries team, Jim served as President and CEO of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Spokane, Vice President at Metwest Financial Services of Metropolitan Mortgage, and as President of Northwest Capital Inc.

Jim is an active participant in community affairs and is a member of several Eastern Washington University committees, and serves on the board of the Association of Washington Business.

Nicole joined Associated Industries in 1999. She leads the employment team as well as directly serves members with employment law consulting and reviews. 

 

Nicole graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1999 and Washington State University in 1996. She is licensed to practice law in both Washington and Idaho. She is actively involved in community organizations and is a member of the Board of Directors for Mid-City Concerns. A regular presenter on employment law topics, Nicole has also authored numerous articles and teaching materials related to these matters.

Angela joined Associated Industries in January 2009. She was previously a managing partner of Randall & Danskin, P.S., her practice areas included Civil Litigation, Trust and Estate Dispute Litigation, Guardianships and Medical Negligence Defense. 

 

Angela graduated summa cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law, and is also a registered nurse offering a unique healthcare perspective to her work with members. Angela is licensed to practice law in both Washington and Idaho, and is a member of the Washington State Society of Health Care Attorneys, the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Association of Nurse Attorneys.

Val leads our Human Resources team, develops and delivers HR programs for members, and provides on-site HR services to member organizations. She has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Gonzaga University, and her experience includes HR and Benefit Management in manufacturing, customer service, and technology industries. Val's background also includes the management of temporary staffing operations in Washington and Northern Idaho.

Human Resources Advisor & Affirmative Action Specialist


 

Andrea has more than 15 years of human resources experience including researching and developing business strategies, project management, affirmative action plan development, managing employees, recruitment and retention, conflict resolution and benefit administration. She has worked in a variety of industries including technology, professional services, and manufacturing. She is working with our members on many projects, but with a special focus on affirmative action plans.

Katie graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, majoring in Human Resources. She has been certified by Human Resources Certification Institute as a Professional in Human Resources. 

Katie’s experience includes positions in the banking, sports facility, and retail industries. She served as a Human Resources professional and coach for Red and Associates. Katie now serves Associated Industries members and clients on HR projects, outsourced services, and provides member support. 

 Ryan Callan, MS, SHRM-CP | Senior Human Resources Advisor

Ryan R. Callan has joined the Associated Industries’ Human Resources Team, as a Senior HR Advisor. Ryan is an experienced HR Consultant with a demonstrated history of working with both for-profit and non-profit organizations, including extensive experience in the human services industries. Skilled in HR functions, including; Compensation Plans, Recruitment & Hiring, Discipline & Terminations, HR Audits, Wage/Hour, ADA, Drug & Alcohol Testing, Exempt/Non-Exempt Classifications, implementing Federal and State regulations, Management Coaching, Administering Surveys and Workplace Assessments, Cultural Awareness, and Leading Efficient Teams. Ryan also has a high-level of experience with non-profit Board development.

 

In addition to an extensive career in the human and social services industries in roles of direct care and HR, more recently he served over 4-years as an HR Consultant in Montana. Over these years, Ryan was the key facilitator for the Annual Montana/Wyoming Regional Wage & Salary Survey.

Ryan is originally from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, but has been residing and working in the USA for over 15 Years.  He was formally educated with a graduate degree focused in Industrial - Organizational Psychology from Missouri State University; but he is also a proud undergraduate of EWU. Go Eagles!!

 

Ryan’s perspective on the role of an organization’s HR department is to act as a facilitator, balancing the requirements of the employer, and the needs/interests of the employees. It comes with the perspective that when an employer takes care of their employees, the employees will then take proper care of the employer’s clients, customers, and/or products and services. Ryan is thrilled to return to the Spokane area, and is looking forward to engaging with and supporting the region’s business members HR needs.

Michelle is a graduate of Eastern Washington University with her Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Her major was Human Resources. After graduation, Michelle worked in retail and industrial service. She joined the HR team at Associated Industries in the fall of 2016 and is now serving members and clients with individual support, outsourced resources, and HR projects.

Hannah graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelor's of Business Administration, with concentrations in Human Resources and Operation and Supply Chain Management. She joined the GU Human Resources team for a year and a half before coming to Associated Industries. Hannah now serves Associated Industries members and clients on HR projects, outsourced services, and provides member support.

 Kristen Bishop | Human Resources Generalist

Kristen joined Associated Industries in December 2018. She graduated in 2013 from Cal State Northridge with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Before moving to Washington, Kristen worked in the human resources field in the state of California. Kristen is currently serving our members and clients with individual support, outsourced resources and HR projects.  

 Lori Massey |  Human Resources Assistant

 

Lori joined Associated Industries in 2013. She worked at the front desk for four years assisting all members and all departments. She was promoted to HR assistant in the fall of 2017. Lori currently coordinates on-boarding for all our members including new hire paperwork, reference checks and orientation.

Joyce joined Associated Industries in 2000, and has been a part of our benefits team assisting our members. She is the primary contact with the insurance carriers, and handles the reporting and database administration for the department. Joyce brings with her a unique understanding of issues facing the small employer. Prior to joining Associated Industries, she was an owner/partner in a family-owned retail plumbing business. She understands the day-to-day matters small employers face and the value of the services that Associated Industries brings to our members.

Michelle joined the benefit administration team in 2008. She has taken on the role of team lead for implementation of new groups. Michelle has more than 20 years experience in the health insurance industry, including flexible benefits and self-insured employers. She has a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of Montana and is a Life, Disability and P&C Licensed Producer.

Amanda joined the health benefits team in 2014, and has taken on the focus of managing accounts receivable and COBRA coverage services for our benefit plan groups. She has more than 12 years experience in the health care industry including customer service, accounts receivable, and collections. 

 Stephanie Lantzer | Benefit Services Administrator

Stephanie joined the Benefits Team in 2019. She mainly handles the enrollment of new and renewing groups and is the customer service contact for firms and employees. Stephanie brings with her 27 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Stefanie has a bachelor's degree from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication and Media Studies from Washington State University. She brings more than nine years of consultative sales and business development experience, previously working in the hospitality and technology industries.

 

Stefanie’s role is to help small and mid-sized organizations, across multiple industries, address employer related issues more effectively through Associated Industries’ membership support and services. She will connect you with the HR & Legal support you need to make operating a business easier, safer and more prosperous.

 Emily Wood | Marketing Generalist & Social Media Manager 

 

Emily joined Associated Industries in 2017, she began as an intern and has worked her way up to becoming our marketing generalist and social media manager. She is responsible for marketing and social media campaigns and is involved in member engagement as well.

 

Emily has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Washington University and has a second bachelor’s degree in Communications from Arizona State University. 

 Allison Cubberely | Membership Engagement Manager & Training                                                                                 Facilitator 

 

Allison started with Associated Industries in 2019. She currently oversees the member experience and facilitates our workforce training courses. She is a graduate from Western Washington University with a bachelors in community health education.

 

Allison has experience in owning a small business which allows her to better relate to and advocate for those trying to navigate the challenges of owning and running a small business. With over 10 years of management and customer service behind her- helping facilitate employer relations and proactively creating efficient and successful work environments is something Allison excels at.

  Kandi Hoaglund | Office Administrator


Kandi joined Associated Industries in 2019. Kandi is responsible for the overall office coordination including assistance with training, building security system access, board meetings, and events. She brings with her thirteen years of experience as an Employee and Labor Relations Representative in manufacturing and eight years of experience in international leisure and sporting goods manufacturing as an office coordinator and sales force liaison. She also graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Tim Quinn | Director of Finance & Compliance 

 


 

Tim joined Associated Industries in 2019. Tim is responsible for implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities for AIIN, AIRE, AIMS and the healthcare trusts as well as making sure all are in full compliance with all government and other rules and regulations. Tim graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Gonzaga University and brings with him 17 years of finance and management experience.

Debbie joined Associated Industries in 2015, she brings more than 25 years of experience to our finance team. She has worked in accounting for the agricultural, construction, mining, and manufacturing industries. Debbie supports our team by taking care of accounts payable, financial reporting, and banking reconciliations.
